Carl Jung, the founder of analytical psychology, studied astrology extensively and used birth charts with his patients. He believed astrology provided valuable psychological insights and symbolic language for understanding the unconscious mind.
Jung stated: "Astrology represents the summation of all the psychological knowledge of antiquity." He saw correlations between astrological archetypes and his theory of psychological types.
His concept of synchronicity - meaningful coincidences - was partly developed to explain how astrology might work without requiring physical causation.
